How we check compatibility

What the labels mean, where the information comes from, and how often it changes.

What the labels mean

Works means the device pairs and its main features work with that hub, with no extra hardware.

Needs means it works, but only with something extra, such as the maker’s own bridge or a Zigbee dongle. The label names what you need.

Not supported means we have found no way to use it with that hub.

Where the information comes from

Hub documentation and device databases, maker specifications, and reports from people who own the device. Where a source and an owner disagree, we say so on the device page.

Keeping it up to date

Every page shows the date it was last checked. New devices often need a hub update before they pair, and some features or actions may not work at first. Spotted a mistake? Tell us.
